Climate justice is social justice! Please join the movement for just climate action at App! Last month, nearly 200 people assembled to discuss climate action possibilities here on campus. The goal: for Appalachian State to demonstrate how a large public university can become climate neutral in the next decade, in alignment with the IPCC's newest scientific recommendations for averting major climate devastation among the most historically marginalized people, and in a way that broadens access to higher ed and enhances the "Appalachian experience" for all students. This is where environmental sustainability meets racial, gender, class and other forms of social justice. This month, as we discuss and refine concrete proposals, we need your voice and your perspective to ensure that this movement builds a just sustainability. We hope to see you there.
