Asheville Art Museum - fall 2018 special-project internship (paid)

The Asheville Art Museum is excited to offer the following paid internship opportunity this fall. Please share this information with any students or colleagues who may be interested.

Fall 2018 Special-Project Internship: Curatorial – Pack Square Project (Media)

This intern will work as a team with the Curatorial Intern – Pack Square Project (Research) to develop a short video on the history of Pack Square. The interns will interview historians and other experts, conduct research on the history of Pack Square, locate photographs and other imagery, and practice their skills in video production. The Museum hopes to make this video available to the public through its website and/or as part of the New Museum at 2 S. Pack Square in early 2019.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience with video production and multimedia storytelling (e.g. research, writing, storyboarding), and an interest in the history of Asheville and/or WNC. A commitment of at least 50 total hours is required; approximately three hours at the Museum each week, plus additional hours for meetings, research, interviews, and video production.

Curatorial Intern – Pack Square Project (Media) stipend: $500. Candidates who qualify for the Rosemary Kennedy Internship Initiative (see below) are eligible for an additional stipend.
