Black Minds Matter: A Focus on Black Boys and Men in Education.

This fall, Appalachian State University's Reich College of Education (RCOE) will serve as a host site for a multi-part online series titled "Black Minds Matter: A Focus on Black Boys and Men in Education."

The series addresses the experiences and realities of black males in education, encourages discussion of issues facing black male students, and offers research-based strategies for improving their success.

Sessions are free and open to the public and will take place in the college, room 124B/C, on Monday evenings, Oct. 23 thru Dec. 11, 2017, from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.

Each session will include a one-hour live-streamed lecture from a national leader in the field, followed by refreshments and a group discussion facilitated by RCOE faculty.
