The Office of Research Protections has the following Job Opportunity available:

Job Description: Research Protections Assistant

Provides various administrative support services for the Research Protections staff. This is an
opportunity to develop knowledge related to research ethics including IRB operations, and skills
related to the review and conduct of research, program administration, and communication
relevant to higher education.

Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Communicating with the research community, including faculty, staff, and students
  • Facilitating data entry and management for a new electronic system for the protection of
  • human subjects
  • Collaborating with the Office of Sponsored Programs to track training requirements
  • Tracking RCR requirements, running reports on RCR needs, and performing basic
  • research on relevant topics as needed
  • Troubleshooting issues which may arise
  • Taking ownership of communication with faculty, staff, and students
  • Assisting with creating and updating reference materials

This position requires strong written communication skills and computer skills, attention to detail,
the ability to work independently. Also, an ideal candidate will understand the fundamentals of
scientific inquiry.

Preferred availability is 10- 20 hours per week; times and days are flexible.
