Wellness and Prevention Services is offering two virtual Koru Mindfulness classes in June. Classes are open to faculty, staff and students and are capped at 12 people per class, so don't wait to reserve your spot!
What is Koru Mindfulness? Koru Mindfulness is a 4 week course where participants learn 10 different mindfulness and meditation skills. Those who complete the course may experience less stress, better sleep, increased focus and less self-judgement. Our June virtual classes are live online classes held through Zoom. Sessions will not be recorded - you must attend live. Once you register, expect an email one or two days before class begins with further instructions on how to join the Zoom room. Rogers (available for free via course reserve or online in the App State library). This book still has useful information for those who are not 20-something years old, and I've taught many people who are not 20-something years old who have found value in the course and the book. Those seeking an asynchronous experience can sign up for the Koru un-class. There is a $3.99 fee to use the Koru app for this un-class. Registering for this class gives you access to the Koru Mindfulness app, including guided meditations, a meditation log, and a class-wide gratitude river. The App State library does carry an unlimited use online license for the Koru class book. If you use the book and the app together, you will have a great go at your own pace introduction to mindfulness course.
