Marcie Cohen Ferris and William R. Ferris to speak on campus

Marcie Cohen Ferris is Professor of American Studies at UNC Chapel Hill and writes on southern history and culture, with a particular interest in regional cuisines. Cohen Ferris will speak on “The Edible South,” also the title of her most recent book, published in 2014 by UNC Press. Marcie Cohen Ferris will speak Friday afternoon, from 3:30-5:00 p.m.
William “Bill” R. Ferris, former Chair of the National Endowment for the Humanities under President Clinton, teaches in the Departments of History and Folklore at UNC. Ferris is an acclaimed folklorist, photographer, writer, blues scholar, and documentary filmmaker. William R. Ferris will speak from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday evening
