National Conference on Undergraduate Research - NCUR 2018

The Office of Student Research at Appalachian State University would like to encourage students with faculty mentors who have completed a research project or creative endeavors to participate in the 2018 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR). This conference, of close to 4000 participants, promotes undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activities in all disciplines. Appalachian State has typically been listed as one of the "Institutions leading the way in NCUR participation".
This year's event will be held at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK from April 4-7, 2018. Presenters must complete the online abstract submission form at Abstract Submission Portal to be considered for acceptance. Guidelines for abstract submissions are located at the following site: Abstract Guidelines. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, December 5, 2017.
In order to be considered for an Office of Student Research (OSR) Travel Grant, students MUST complete the Undergraduate Research Office Coordinator Information section of the NCUR abstract submission form. The Coordinator’s name would be Rebecca Battista, the Institution would be Appalachian State University and the Coordinator’s Contact Info would be: email:, title: Director, phone number: (828) 262-7655. We will begin accepting OSR Travel Grant applications after NCUR abstract acceptances have been sent out at the end of January 2018.
It is my hope that the Faculty and students at ASU will be well represented at this prestigious scholarly event.
If you have any questions, please call the Office of Student Research at 262-7655.
Rebecca A. Battista, Ph.D.
