Tayah Butler Bio

Tayah Butler is a pioneer and trailblazer of implementing inclusive practices in higher education. She started her work in higher education as an Academic Advisor for Lundquist College of Business. During her seven years at UOregon,  she founded, grew and led the college’s premier minority retention program and increased minority student retention rates from 30% to above 80%. Butler cultivated the major gifts to seed fund the College’s first Diversity endowment and championed model programs across campus.

Butler moved to North Carolina State in 2016 to do more than champion diversity efforts. As Director of Diversity and Inclusion, she leads mission-critical initiatives for North Carolina State’s Poole College of Management that enhance their diversity, equity, and inclusion.
