Sustainability Goals and Initiatives at UNC Chapel Hill

 

 Chapel Hill became the first UNC campus in the state to hire a fulltime Sustainability Coordinator in 2001, Cindy Shea. As head of that campus’s Sustainability Office Cindy works with campus partners to develop and document sustainable policies, practices, and curricula. In this lecture Cindy will share how her role has evolved since 2001 and describe the ongoing efforts of their office to engage and educate members of the campus community Our Spring 2019 Speakers will highlight women working in the clean energy industry!

The Sustainable Energy Speaker Series was created to deepen campus and community understanding of contemporary energy issues and spur conversation, reflection and collaboration around energy topics. The series is a joint effort of the Appalachian Energy Center and the Department of Sustainable Technology and the Built Environment. *Attendance will be kept for faculty offering extra credit for students.*
