Gracyn Travitz Spends Semester in Costa Rica

Honors sophomore and public health major Gracyn Tavitz spent this Spring semester at Veritas University in Costa Rica. There she took classes in health and psychology, holistic medicine, and healthcare and medicine. About her experience, Travitz shares,

“the experience was absolutely life changing.”

On the weekends, Travitz traveled across the country visiting places like Manuel Antonio, Playa Uvita, Guanacaste, and Monteverde. In and out of the classroom, through daily human interactions, food, and festivities, Travitz experienced a completely new and different country and culture. As she explained,

“I immersed myself in every experience and opportunity possible.”

In the end, this study abroad semester left Travitz full of gratitude and awe. She further reflected

"My viewpoint on so many things in the world has  shifted, and I feel like I was truly able to grow as a person in ways that words cannot even begin to describe."

If you are looking for a similarly life-changing study abroad experience, visit the Honors College library on Thursdays from 2-3:30 pm to talk to an Honors study abroad ambassador who will share their experience and can guide you through the process. Click here for more information.
