Honors Seminar Studies King Arthur in Great Britian over Spring Break

Students in HON 3515: King Arthur seminar traveled to Great Britain over Spring Break alongside Dr. Alexandra Sterling-Hellenbrand. In this seminar, students are examining how the story of King Arthur has been shaped by the geography of Great Britain, even as the country has shaped the story over time. In their trip last week, they explored Arthurian sites that figure prominently in the course literature (medieval and modern):  Stonehenge, Caerleon, Glastonbury (Avalon!), and the Great Hall at Winchester with its Round Table.  The trip served as a "laboratory" for the course—a way to study "the story in its place."
