Message from Dean Jeff Vahlbusch
Dear Honors students and faculty across the university,
May I give you a gift?
Click here to learn about the pilot subscription the Honors College has purchased for each of you to the Student Opportunity Center (SOC).
Honors education is about connecting to opportunities, in and out of the classroom. The SOC is the largest and best-organized national database of high-impact opportunities:
● Conferences, seminars, workshops
● Publication opportunities: journals, competitions
● Summer research opportunities
● Internships
● Grants, scholarships, fellowships
Students: when you return to campus in August, please expect an email showing you how to register with the SOC and set up the automatic key-word searches that will deliver opportunities to your inbox. Faculty: you’ll also have the power to add and advertise your own high-impact opportunities to local or national audiences through the SOC.
We are very excited about our partnership with SOC, and look forward to increasing the power of opportunities to transform our lives, our learning, and our futures. See you in a few weeks!
Jeff
