Greetings Honors family,

Welcome to the first of our monthly Honors Wednesday Memo summer editions!  In this memo's spotlight story, we feature a group of students who built connections that broadened their perspectives as part of their Honors faculty-led study abroad to Austria. Many of you are similarly spending your summer collaboratively learning and growing thorough international experiences, research and creative endeavors, internships, and other important experiences that put your academic knowledge into action within your community. As you do this, please remember to take time to reflect on the new perspectives and meaningful connections you are gaining in the process. And, if you are willing, we’d love to hear about the ways you are exploring, discovering, and engaging this summer. You can share your stories here.

Many thanks,

Vicky

Drs. Alexandra Sterling-Hellenbrand, professor in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and CulturesReeves Shulstad,  professor of musicology in the Hayes School of Music, and Jim Toub, professor in the Department of Art, led the trip. In this course, students navigated the various cultural expressions in Vienna during the turn of the 20th century.
