Dear Honors College community,
As our campus navigates the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, my thoughts are with each of you and your families. I miss seeing you all on campus and want to let you know that our Honors College spaces are safe and ready for your return. I know some of you and your families are still managing power, water, and internet outages, and some have faced much bigger losses because of the storm. Know that when you return to classes on October 16, our Honors College faculty and staff are here to help you find success, no matter what you’re going through. Reach out to your academic mentors to let them know about any struggles you may be facing; they want to support you. If you need help now due to the impacts of the storm, please visit the Disaster Relief Hub through the Dean of Students’ office — they’re there to listen and provide assistance. While these past two weeks have been challenging for us all, the way our campus, town, and wider community have come together has been inspiring. I can’t wait to see you all back on campus so we can keep learning and growing together.
Best wishes,
Vicky
