Becoming an Honors Student
In order to become a member of The Honors College students must apply and be admitted into the program. Students can apply to The Honors College by completing an application for admission (including submission of test scores and transcripts) to Appalachian State University by November 15. Students who meet the criteria will be eligible to apply to The Honors College (and for scholarships for which they are eligible). If they are eligible to apply to The Honors College, the student will receive an email containing detailed instructions on completing the application process through their student portal: myApp.appstate.edu.
Eligible students must complete their Honors College application by December 1. Admission is highly competitive and seats will be filled as applications arrive. Thus, earlier applications will have a distinct advantage and timely submission is encouraged. Application review will begin on a rolling basis in the fall with letters sent as decisions are made.

Starting Fall 2012, all incoming freshmen Honors students are automatically assigned a room in Cone Hall. Any student who does not want to live in Cone Hall must contact The Honors College in writing at email@example.com.
What if I am not accepted into the The Honors College?
Students who are not accepted for Fall matriculation may apply for admission to The Honors College for Spring semester by completing the Transfer Application and submitting it by January 7, 2015 for Spring Admission.
