Honors students majoring in public health are working with Appalachian State University’s Department of Wellness and Prevention Services (WPS) in the Division of Student Affairs to promote wellness on campus during the pandemic. Victoria Moreno and Caroline Pruitt are two Honors students whose efforts have recently been highlighted in AppalachianToday.
Victoria Moreno, a senior in the Honors College is featured here in the story “Stroll and learn: Health, Wellness and Safety Walk signs guide students to helpful resources” by Linda Coutant. The story shows Moreno installing a sign as part of the Health, Wellness and Safety Walk — a self-guided walking tour informing students of resources available to them for their well-being. Moreno works in WPS.
Senior Caroline Pruitt is a departmental honors student featured here in the story, “Maintaining wellness in uncertain times — tips from a public health major and peer educator” by Linda Coutant. Pruitt is also one of 34 wellness peer educators within WPS, who offer informational presentations to fellow students about topics such as mental health and nutrition.
