In their speech, Kahn promotes the need for mindfulness especially in light of COVID-19. They stated,

"It is through creativity and self-care that often we can find happiness in addition to finding personal meaningful work, maintain gratitude for what you are able to do, and work to recognize how our environment can be improved. How can we reinterpret ideas of productivity where we can value personal care in addition to economic pressure? How can we balance meaningful work and our own personal health? During this pandemic these questions are crucial. For those who are graduating today, you are incredible. It is such an achievement that we are able to finish this semester despite all of these changes. We will never forget this college graduation."
