Em Acuña is a (junior/third-year) Honors College student majoring in psychology with a concentration in social science and a minor in media studies. Em has been working as a front office worker with the Honors College since January 2024, and most enjoys Tours and Talks with prospective students and families. In the Fall 2024 semester, Acuña single-handedly managed the front office workload and for the Spring 2025 semester trained our two new front office student workers. As a front office student worker, Acuña took the lead in posting and planning social media for the college. Beginning in Spring 2025 semester, Acuña will take on new roles in the college, serving as the social media manager and assistant editor to the Honors Wednesday Memo. Outside of the Honors College, Em has been involved in other student organizations such as Appalachian Popular Programming Society, The Peel, and Psi Chi. Em has also been involved in ongoing research labs within the Department of Psychology since January 2024. After graduation, Em plans to attend graduate school to pursue research exploring the intersections of psychology and media.
