Departmental Honors Programs

While the Honors College provides an interdisciplinary foundation, many individual departments across campus offer their own specialized tracks.

Looking for a Deep Dive into Your Major?

Departmental Honors programs, administrated by individual Academic Departments and Colleges, are designed for students who wish to focus their honors experience on their specific major. These programs are governed, awarded, and supported exclusively by the faculty within your home department and typically focus on your junior and senior years within your field. To learn more about requirements and invitation/application procedures, Contact your Departmental Honors Director or consult the Undergraduate Bulletin.

Can I pursue both?

Absolutely! Many students choose to overlap these pathways. This allows you to combine the interdisciplinary community of the Honors College with the disciplinary mastery of your major. With proactive planning, a single Senior Honors Thesis can satisfy the requirements for both programs simultaneously.
