Introducing Raoul Eno, Honors College front office student worker

By: Kaylie Morales

The Honors College is excited to welcome Raoul Eno as a new front office student worker beginning January 2025. Eno is majoring in computer information systems with a minor in supply chain management. He joined App State and the Honors College in the Fall 2023 semester and plans to graduate in May of 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree. Eno is also a member of the Honors Vanguard and the secretary for Sky Campus Yoga Club exemplifying his “engagement beyond himself, across disciplinary boundaries, and in collaboration with others” in keeping with the Honors College mission.

The front office student workers serve as the front face of the Honors College. The day-to-day duties include answering and organizing responses to phone calls and emails. They forward emails to specific staff or to other units, as needed. About his new role Eno shared, “My average duties mostly include answering emails and phone calls, but I also assist whoever needs my help with anything. I also help to create the presentations and images for the social media page.”

Eno has many traits that make him well-suited for this position. In his own words,

I think some unique skills I bring to this role are my viewpoints and ideas. I would like to believe I am a good one-on-one listener, especially in finding out how to improve or help others. It’s what I have been doing most of my life and I would like to think I have gotten pretty good at it.

Front office student workers also help curate the monthly slideshow on the front office television screen, keeping it up-to-date with events and opportunities. They are also responsible for sharing information and inviting the Honors College community to upcoming thesis defenses, then posting successful defenses to the Honors College social media accounts. He credits his experience working as a social media and email coordinator for his high school’s National Beta club, and experience as a tutor that helped prepare him for the front office student worker position.

Student workers help fill-in as needed in leading Honors College “Tour and Talks” for prospective students and their families. Working as a front office student worker Eno is finding his teamwork and interpersonal skills growing stronger. He said,

I personally feel my skill set since I have become a front office worker has become a bit more refined as I was used to talking and assisting people. All in all, it is nice to feel like I am helping someone alongside getting better at it.

Eno explained how he found this position: “I originally applied to the position during an anxious, worrying semester as I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my free time here at App. When I looked into the responsibilities, I saw that it worked really well with my schedule and plans, so I had little reason not to apply. It’s working with people I like and close by.”

After completing his undergraduate degree, he plans on pursuing a master’s degree in data analytics. For his thesis, he is interested in studying the impact artificial intelligence has on business and how businesses can work alongside this change in technology.
