The following Honors seniors have been recognized at the 2019 College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Senior Awards. Twenty-seven Honors students received awards from 16 departments in the CAS. Congratulations to these award winners!
Patrick F. James (anthropology),
Honors senior and anthropology major Patrick James has been awarded a full scholarship to the University of Florida at Gainesville. Patrick will be pursuing a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies.
On April 13, 2019, Appalachian Honors Association (AHA) hosted its second Honors Formal in the Reich College of Education’s rotunda.

Honors Takes Project Condom Win!

On April 3, 2019, Appalachian Honors Association (AHA) entered Wellness and Prevention Services’ Project Condom contest. Project Condom merges art and fashion while promoting safer sex behaviors for college-aged students.
Emily Cluen (’18) has been accepted to the graduate program in Student Affairs and Higher Education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, for the Fall 2019 semester.
The first High Country March to Defeat Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) Walk was a great success! On Saturday, March 30 at Appalachian Leon Levine Health Sciences (LLHS) building, hundreds of people walked 1.5 miles in order to raise money for ALS research.
Honors Chris Waldon (’16) majored in computer science then stayed on at Appalachian to complete in 2018 a Master of Science in computer science.
