Message from Associate Director Dr. Heather Waldroup

I am excited to tell you that two scholars, Judith Brodsky and Ferris Olin, are coming to our campus in November to present a series of programs on the theme of women's leadership in the arts. Professors Brodsky and Olin have taken circuitous career and intellectual paths, working as artists, librarians, college professors, and leaders of major organizations. Their visit (co-sponsored by the Honors College) will touch on so many things that the Honors College values, particularly inclusivity in leadership. I'm honored that they're coming to our campus, and I'm especially looking forward to introducing them to Honors students. In addition to a public lecture to be held on November 21, they'll be leading a roundtable discussion of their recent book, Junctures in Women's Leadership: The Arts, especially for studentsThe roundtable will be held on Friday, November 22, at 1 pm in 421 Belk Library. It will be open to the first 20 students who RSVP via this link, and free copies of the book will be provided. I hope all of you will consider joining this event.
